June Newsletter

Dear Parents,

June! We made it! This year has flown by so quickly and your children have grown in so many ways. I have loved watching them grow, learn, develop, and discover.

This month we will wrap up our bugs and insects unit, celebrate Father’s Day, and talk about taking care of our world. For Early Numeracy we will continue developing number sense and practicing writing numbers. In Early Literacy we will continue to practice sounding out words using our phonics knowledge and wrapping up on our letter formation practice. To help your child retain the information over the summer months, have them practice writing words outside with sidewalk chalk, create cards for loved ones, draw and label pictures, read alphabet books, and play with alphabet magnets.

Our Memory Work for June is from Galatians 5:22-23, “The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. “ We have been talking about how Jesus plants the seeds of the fruits of the Spirit in us. We can grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When we are filled with the fruits of the spirit, Jesus helps us to grow and bloom.

The weather in this last month will be up and down, please dress your child for the weather. If it looks cool/rainy make sure they have a waterproof coat. On super sunny days, perhaps pack a hat for your child, and sunscreen them up before coming to school to reduce the risk of sun burns. We will often be outside for PE, so please make sure their footwear is conducive to running, climbing, kicking, etc.

The star of the day program has come to an end, thank you all for supporting your child as they created posters and presented about themselves, their family traditions, and the groups that they belong to. I saw many wonderful pictures and learned so much about each person through the star of the day program.

I want to express my deep gratitude for all of the support I have received from you all during the year. To all of our volunteers, an enormous thank you! The craft prep people, the classroom volunteer people, the field trip people, the scrapbook people, the event planning people, the home writing book people, the playdough people,  the prayer people; ALL of the people. All of you made a positive impact not only in my life, but in the lives of each student. This year was a success because of all of the ways you blessed us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
