Ms. Prud'Homme's Welcome Page

Dear students, staff and parents, It is with great joy that I am serving Cochrane Christian Academy as Assistant Principal for the 2019-2020 school year. I am reconnect with current families and get to know new ones, as well as learn the ways that I can best support CCA’s staff and students. I love the community at CCA - it is supportive, encouraging and open to on-going life-long learning! A few things about me: I love learning… really I sincerely do, I care deeply about people and helping them discover their best potential, I enjoy good food and art as well as indie music, and I try my best to make time for travelling, reading, kayaking, camping and hiking. I strive to live life to the fullest every day, and believe each day is a new gift. My favourite travel destinations have been Cambodia, Santorini in Greece, Croatia, Ethiopia and Italy. It was through travelling that I got into photography, as I love to capture the miracles of the world around us. Over the past two years, I have been a Principal of two small rural schools in Arrowwood and Milo. As principal, I helped to enhance the Leader in Me program in Arrowwood and build the IB programming in Milo, while improving school results, parent engagement and staff effectiveness. Prior to being Principal, I was with Alberta Education in the Learning and Technology Resources Sector, providing consultation, support and expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement and systemic planning. I was Vice Principal of Heritage Christian Academy in Calgary for 2 years where I led technology and inclusive education initiatives. I also worked at Master’s Academy where I helped lead initiatives for design-based learning and also started my own educational business for creative and critical thinking, leadership and personal growth. Throughout my career, I have taught in Edmonton, Ottawa, Calgary, Dominica, Ethiopia and Japan in public, charter and private settings, with K-12 students and adults. My teaching strengths are in project-based learning, paperless-online learning and formative assessment in subject areas of leadership, design thinking, science, language arts, drama, robotics, architecture, photography and entrepreneurship. Here's to a great year ahead! - Ms. Prud'Homme
