Dear CCA Parents,

We are excited to once again partner with Child Safe Canada to offer a "Home Alone" and "Babysitting Course" at CCA for youth ages 10 and up.

The "Home Alone" course will run  March 18th and 19th during the recess/lunch hour and costs $22 per child. As the name suggests, this course is intended to prepare children to stay home alone. Kids will learn how to be responsible when staying home alone, what to do in an emergency situation, how to stay safe, and more. If a younger sibling wants to attend the home alone course with their older sibling they are welcome to do so, however, they will have to pay the fee as well.

The Babysitting Course will run from April 20th  - 24th during the recess/lunch hour and costs $52.

This course teaches skills such as being a responsible babysitter, learning safety and preventing injury, handling emergencies appropriately, meal preparation, feeding babies, changing diapers, and other childcare skills. This course is great to build self-esteem while giving children the opportunity to gain work experience safely.

Permission forms can be downloaded from this message, or picked up at the CCA office or from Ms. Waldolf.  Babysitter Program Flyer 2020.pdf Home Alone Safety Flyer 2020.pdf

Payment should be handed in to the CCA office along with the signed permission form. Cheques can be made payable to Child Safe Canada. In order for the courses to run we will need 15 students per course to sign up. If you have any other questions feel free to email Ms. Waldolf at
