HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS

Please review this if you are spending more than 10-15 mins. on homework a night.

Hello Parents,

It has come to my attention that there is a misunderstanding on how much time should be dedicated to homework. As per my previous emails, I explained that homework is to only be worked on for 10-15 minutes every evening. I even sent a schedule of how to plan your homework nights in a previous email to help your organization.

Steps to doing homework:

1. Set a timer and have a planned place to do their homework that is quiet and without distraction (also they need to be checked on if they need help or you need to devote 10 minutes in the evening with them if they need extra help).

2. Start with the agenda homework (aim for no more than 10 minutes).

3. Move onto word sorts (no more than 5 minutes to sort their words/do the task sent home on the parent letter about word sorts and use the BLOG to understand how to properly sort).

4. HOMEWORK HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED!

5. If they want to use the supplimental websites they can like: mathletics, RAZ kids, or spelling city.

6. At bed time, read a book using the reading A-Z books (one book a night), repeat the books and do the comprehension sheet on the weekend or on a night that is not so busy.

7. On Monday, post the Bible memory verse and practice it in the morning if you can or on the drive to school (or in your family devotional time).

DO NOT FIGHT WITH YOUR CHILD TO DO THE HOMEWORK.... SEND A NOTE TO SCHOOL AND I WILL TALK WITH THEM!

Thank you and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns,
